I borrowed a book called “innovation in English Language Teaching” from the library and I just started reading it.  The book introduces the essentials of a communicative curriculum, managing the learning process, lexis in the syllabus and so on.  I think the book may help me to understand more about my topic.  Next week, I will continue reading the book.  Of course, looking for a specific topic for my essay is hard, so I should work harder to do more research.

I choose “Curriculum development and material design” as my topic for the final year project.  I expect to do research on three main fields.  1. Teaching materials choosing.  2. Teaching method choosing.  3. How to let our materials and teaching method become suitable to Chinese students from different ages.

 

We have many options when choosing a text book or other teaching materials.  However, it doesn’t mean that they are all good options.  Teachers have to decide which book and what kind of teaching material is suitable for students in a particular grade.  In this case, I expect to compare different kinds of teaching materials and find out some good ways of choosing teaching material.

 

Because of the development of our society, a lot of teaching methods are being used by teachers. However, these methods have both advantages and disadvantages.  In my essay, I expect to compare the advantages and disadvantages of different teaching methods.  Meanwhile, I want to find out some good teaching methods and how these methods work on students from different ages.

 

Since I am a Chinese student and I have been accepted Chinese teaching style for many years, I have experience.  In this case, from a more specific aspect, I expect to find out how those materials and methods work on Chinese students from different age and grades.  What’s more, hopefully I expect to design an English lesson for Chinese students from a particular grade.

 

In addition, I will add some of my own experience which includes experience when I was accepting Chinese way of teaching and my teaching experience in my essay.

例如以前在研究小组课题不爱发表意见的我扮演了指挥者的角色

例如以前总爱观望的我在英教的presentation前居然举手申请第一个上台

例如在presentation后被人称作偶像

例如一开始最感绝望的数学能考满分

例如继英教presentation第一个上台后IT的presentation又是我第一个上台

例如电脑白痴的我连滚带爬地弄了个很恶心的网页并硬黏着老师教我上传并且成功鸟

 

 

真的好神奇

 

只是今晚的英教考试例外，忽略它吧，吼吼...

 

 

              接下来还是一如既往地忙，忙得像只狗一样

 

例如明天要去听个莫名其妙的国情讲座

     例如我们EDP的展板还没收尾

          例如我们EDP的纪念册必须开始动工

               例如国文小组课题一定要从头到尾连排否则会死得很惨

                    例如一堆莫明其妙的功课

 

最恶心的是数学的project！有课题让我们研究也就算了，还弄个什么presentation！！用麦麦的话来说：数学还presentation！pre pre pre pre条毛阿pre！

昨天上了IT和国文~~IT...就算听中文也会一头雾水，还英文呢，所以我得开始储备专有名词了……国文还真是跟中学那个什么什么语文相差好多！！！一点也不沉闷……

 

今天是语言学习导论和数学~~~下午一点要去上数学……没天理……

10.31   we had a wonderful Halloween party.Since sth. wrong with my dear computer,I wrote this to u all today.

Husband Chang came to visit me that night.I was so happy to see her!!!~~~A big suprice!!!!!!!!!

 

The sports meeting is held in Guangdong Experimental Middle School today and tomorrow.What a pity,I can't go to see it.I miss Kathy and other friends!!!Believe me!I will of course go to see you all when u leave our choir,but please tell jingjing to hold the party on Sat.!!!!!!!!

Now we begin.

 

Today,Marya and Ruth teach us.They're kind.Marya like to play "simon says",and Ruth is so cute!!!We learned a lot of things about Holand.

 

We made friend with one of the Korean student,her name is also Ruth.She is lovely,but she will go back to Korea next year,cause she is an exchange student.She was also a fan of HOT,that make me feel exciting!Lika and I will teach her Chinese and she will teach us Korean.Of course,we have to learn English well first!

 

Then we have a boring evening actibities!!!!!To tell the truth,it was really boring!!!!!Nearly 1000 students sat in the classroom,and the foreign teachers played boring games with us!!!You better kill me! I do hope we can do more interesting things instead of these!!!!!OH YEAH!We have no evening activities tomorrow!!!!!!!YEAH!!!!!Celebrate!!!!!
